This blank is made up of shavings of Desert Ironwood which were compressed and cured in a pressure pot with clear Alumilite epoxy resin.

The blank has been milled to the size and surfaced to the extent shown, but it is not sanded or polished, since it will be finished as part of the knifemaking process.
