This listing is for a stabilized black walnut knife handle blank, the perfect knifemaker's material for the handle of your next knife. It measures approximately 2"W x 6"L x 15/16" thick. This walnut piece has interesting color variations and grains, as shown in the photos.

This wood was stabilized using cactus juice stabilizing resin, which is considered the best stabilizing resin on the market. After thoroughly drying the wood it was placed under vacuum to remove all of the air, after which the resin is given several days to fully penetrate the wood, and then it is cured.

Some of the pictures may show the blank after wetting with oils in order to give you an idea of the final color when finished.

This blank has been milled to the size and surfaced to the extent shown. It is not sanded or polished, since it will be finished as part of the knifemaking process.
